- Billy Ripken, the brother of Hall-of-Famer Cal Ripken and the son of former major league manager Cal Ripken Sr., had a productive career as a second baseman. Four years younger and three inches shorter than his more famous brother, Billy was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles, the family team, in the 11th round of the 1982 amateur draft. He made his debut with the club on July 11, 1987 and had a career lasting 11 years and 2 days for four teams, including two stints with the O's and the Texas Rangers. He was mostly a utility infielder, playing a minimum of 100 games in only five seasons. In only one year, his sophomore season in 1988, did he play what can be considered a full season, 150 games and 512 at bats; however, he only batted .209. His next closest "full season" was 1991, when he led the team in batting with a .291 average in 129 games and 406 at bats. He had 118 hits (in only one other season, '88, did he break the 100 hit threshold). He was a good gloveman, leading all keystone sackers in the major leagues in fielding percentage, with .993% in 1992 in 108 games at second, after committing only four errors. However, the Baltimore official scorers were known for their extreme generosity with the Ripken brothers, and no one would ever accuse Billy of being the second coming of Bobby Grich.
Billy Ripken was released on July 13, 1998, with a .247 career batting average and 647 hits. Big brother Cal, the 1982 American League Rookie of the Year and 1983 Most Valuable Player, meanwhile, racked up 3,184 hits, including 431 home runs, while driving in 1,695 and scoring 1,641 runs, as well as set a record for consecutive games played. You can look it up.
Billy's father, Cal, Sr., remains the only major league manager to manage two sons on the same team in the same season. - William Reese was born on 29 July 1955 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, USA. He was married to Margaret and Dorothy Hurt. He died on 4 June 2018 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, USA.

René Viénet is a French sinologist who is famous as a situationist writer and filmmaker. Viénet used the situationist technique of détournement - the diversion of already existing cultural elements to new subversive purposes. René Viénet was born on 6 February 1944 to a family that had been dockworkers for several generations in Le Havre, France. He lived in Le Havre until he moved to Paris to study Chinese with Jacques Pimpaneau, an extraordinarily productive scholar, with whom he has remained close friends ever since. Viénet's film 'Mao by Mao' (1977) is dedicated to Jacques Pimpaneau. René Viénet was a member of the Situationist International (SI) from 1963 to 1971. He was one of the SI's two filmmakers (the other being Guy Debord), though his films were made and released after he had left the group. Between 1969 and 1972, Viénet discovered and fell in love with the contemporary cinema of Hong Kong and older Chinese classics. In the period 1972-1974 he distributed more than one hundred films to markets in Europe, the French West Indies and French- speaking Africa. His first two releases in Paris, offered with his own straightforward translations, were 'Du sang chez les taoïstes /ShaJie' and 'Les félons d'AnTchai'. He then created 2 films détournés: 'Can Dialectics Break Bricks?' (1972) and 'Une petite culotte pour l'été (aka Les Filles de Kamaré)' (1974). Viénet subsequently authored and directed two more complex and personal films based on archives: 'Mao par lui-même / Mao by Mao' (1976) and 'Chinois, encore un effort pour être révolutionnaires / Peking Duck Soup' (1977). René Viénet is also a publisher and made numerous contributions to the preservation of the early photographic history of China.- From 1908 Jean Dubuffet attended elementary school. He then completed his high school diploma in Le Havre in 1918. There he also met the writers Raymond Queneau and George Limbour, which developed into a lifelong friendship. After graduating from high school, Dubuffet moved to Paris. He wanted to become a painter there. He also attended classes at the Académie Julian. Six months later he dropped out of his studies. He wanted to teach himself to paint, outside of the academic world. His earliest pictures depict the subway and are based on the graffiti art of the time. During this time he also studied music, linguistics and literature. Dubuffet maintained contacts with the graphic artist and designer Raoul Dufy as well as with the writers Max Jacob and Charles-Albert Cingria. The Swiss art critic Paul Budry gave him the book "The Art of the Mentally Ill" by Hans Prinzhorn. During his military service he came into contact with spiritualist art.
Dubuffet's doubts about cultural values led him to give up painting in 1924. In the same year, 1924, he worked briefly as a technical draftsman in Buenos Aires. He then returned to Le Havre, worked in his parents' wine business and got married. In 1933 he made a new attempt at painting - with interruptions. During this time he turned to Romanesque calligraphy, Egyptian hieroglyphs and Middle Latin philology. It was not until 1942 that he finally returned to painting. He decided for the last time to become an artist. To do this, he sold the wine business. During this time he met the French architect, painter and designer Le Corbusier, with whom he later traveled to Switzerland. In 1945 the artist traveled to Switzerland and came into contact with the works of Adolf Wölfli, Heinrich Anton Müller and Aloyse Corbaz. In 1944 and 1945 he exhibited his works at the René Drouin Gallery in Paris. His works, reminiscent of children's scribbles, were dismissed as barbaric.
Dubuffet's style did not correspond to the taste of the time or to artistic standards. He used coarse painting paste into which he carved archaic figures. He also did not adhere to conventionalized taste standards in female nudes. He created misshapen primitive creatures that he endowed with heads that were much too small or oversized or with spindly arms. Dubuffet turned to the expressions of mentally ill children and members of primitive peoples. Like the Surrealists, he rejected the moral and aesthetic values of Western culture. Jean Dubuffet became the main representative of "Art brut", or gross art. He put together one of the most important collections of art by mentally ill people and other social outsiders, the "Collection de l'Art Brut". In it he professed a view in which art could do without academic training. In 1947 he had his first exhibition at Pierre Matisse's New York gallery.
A retrospective took place in Paris at the Cercle Volney. And in 1973 another retrospective was organized at New York's Guggenheim Museum. In 1962 he developed the artistic language "Hourloupe", which consists of a figurative-abstract cell font. In 1985 he began writing his autobiography. Dubuffet's art is characterized by the fact that it ran counter to contemporary art and did not meet its standards. His works not only reflect the spontaneity, but also the randomness and irrationality. This impression is further enhanced by the fact that he uses materials that are not easy to work with. This is how works of art are created from plaster, putty, sand, glue and other materials, which he worked on and shaped by kneading, scoring or spatulating.
Jean Dubuffet died on May 12, 1985 in Paris. - Sean Malto was born on 9 September 1989 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, USA. He is an actor, known for The Motivation (2013), Soccer Mommy: Circle the Drain (2020) and Circle Jerks: Wild in the Streets (2022).
